We recently held two successful DHI User Conferences (DUCs) in Japan. On 28 May 2013, more than 60 professionals from all water related fields gathered in Tokyo to hear about the most recent news in MIKE by DHI software, general DHI news and developments and presentations by distinguished invited speakers. This year, we had the honor and pleasure of receiving an inspiring keynote lecture about optimal design of geothermal heat pump system using FEFLOW by Professor Fujii from AKITA University.
Also, two excellent papers were presented by Mr. Yoshimi and Mr. Kojima from Chuo University. The papers dealt with 'Runoff analysis and assessment of dam effects on flood control' and 'Effect of large scale rainfall on dissolved oxygen in urban river' – both using our MIKE 11 software.
On 30 May 2013, 20 committed participants joined to the second local user conference, which was held in Osaka. Professor Ishigaki from Hiroshima Institute of Technology gave an enlightening keynote presentation about the possibilities of using tidal energy in the Seto inland sea. Our MIKE 3 software is used to test various scenarios for this developing project.
We would like to thank all the participants, distinguished speakers and helpers and we look forward to, once again, welcome everybody, regulars and new guests, to our 17th event scheduled during spring time next year!
