Successful user group meeting in Shropshire in the UK

The 14th UK user group meeting was held on 20th - 21st March at the Lion Quays Waterside Resort in Oswestry, Shropshire.

Each year, the DHI UK user group meetings are very well attended and this year was no exception. The event was supported by 65 participants encompassing existing users as well as potential new clients.

The first day included a mixture of DHI and user presentations. New software features and technologies were presented, giving the participants an insight into future releases of MIKE by DHI Software (specifically Release 2012).

The many exciting and informative user presentations contained a variety of research and project based case studies, and prompted continued and enthusiastic discussions over the constant supply of fantastic food.

The second and final day included various training sessions, giving the remaining 45 participants the opportunity to gain an understanding of how key MIKE by DHI Software can be used and how it is applied in practice. This included the topics of groundwater, riverine and urban flooding, and also gave the participants a chance to benefit from the experience of a leading expert in shoreline management.

The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive:

“Thanks again for another enjoyable and useful UGM. It once more proved to be a helpful and enlightening few days.” Jack, ABPmer

“Thank you for the excellent DHI User Group meeting. It was my first conference experience since starting at Metoc and it was a very high standard and a pleasure to attend.” Gareth, Intertek

“Thank you all for the very well-organised event, wonderful hospitality, and the opportunity to meet MIKE developers and users – looking forward to the next meeting.” Zeinab, UCD
